Update on SouthGain Transition to ChannelAdvisor

Sunday, 2009-03-08

Well the cutover has gone relatively smoothly.  Just a quick update:

  • * All our eBay listings are now 100% through ChannelAdvisor.  This means if you buy anything in our eBay Store now, you should be able to combine anything you want and go through one checkout process.
  • * We still have quite a few inventory items that we haven’t gotten converted yet into the new format and uploaded to our store, but we’re hoping to have that completed this weekend.
  • * We will be updating all the photos over the coming days, so that they meet the requirements of multiple marketplaces, and to also reflect the new Diana Stalder packaging for several items.
  • * We are no longer shipping most Diana Stalder Surely White products with the little plastic boxes–they tend to get damaged during shipment, they add to shipping costs and they don’t really serve any purpose anyway.  Besides, the environment doesn’t need any unnecessary packaging!
  • * It will be a few more days before our shipping systems are fully transitioned.  So in the interim, some customers might not receive automated e-mails with tracking numbers when we ship.  Rest assured that your shipments ARE still going out within one business day.  Just drop us an e-mail if you would like your tracking number and don’t receive it automatically.

That’s it for now.  We’ll keep you updated here.  Of course, feel free to contact us with any questions.

New SouthGain Order Processing System

Sunday, 2009-03-01

Over the next 3-4 days, SouthGain will be transitioning to a new back-end system for order processing known as ChannelAdvisor (see www.channeladvisor.com).  This new system will integrate all our inventory and listings across multiple sales channels, product lines and distribution centers.  This new system is really the key to our upcoming expansion plans for all these areas.  We are first cutting over our Diana Stalder product line on eBay, and we expect to have this transition completed by 05 March.  Once we have that running smoothly, we’ll be ready to expand!

During the transition period, we know there likely will be some bugs or other strange problems that require manual intervention on our part.  For example, if you have open (unpaid) orders from prior to the transition, you will not be able to combine them with orders from after the transition.  Of course, once the transition is complete, order combination will be much simpler.

As always, if you run into any difficulties during the transition, just contact us and we’ll do our best to sort it out.  Thanks in advance for your patience!
